Rashami Desai, Vikas Gupta, Karanvir Bohra and other TV Celebs condemn “2 seconds fame” remark against Anika Lokhande

TV stars come in support of Anikta Lokhande as she hits back at Shibani Dandekar’s  ‘2 Seconds Of Fame’ Jibe

TV and film actress Ankita Lokhande took to social media on Wednesday to post a long clarifying note regarding her stance on the campaign for justice for late Bollywood actor and her ex-boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput. She hit out at trolls for labelling her as “the other woman” (sautan) and a “widow” and also questioned Rhea Chakraborty‘s actions as she asked, “Should she have allowed a depressed man to consume drugs?”.

On Thursday, Rhea’s friend model/anchor Shibani Dandekar called Ankita ‘princess of patriarchy’ and wrote on her Instagram stories, “Such a grotesque letter by @lokhandeankita This princess of patriarchy who has never dealt with her own relationship issues with sushant, clearly she wants her two seconds of fame and has capitalised on rhea being targeted. She has played a major role in this ‘witch-hunt and she needs to be called out! She also just needs to shut the hell up. Enough ankita! No one has more hate in their heart(?) than you.”

Social media has flooded with retaliatory posts over Dandekar’s comment as enraged netizens have defended Ankita by claiming that she is a successful actor and has stood by Sushant and his family through thick and thin.

Ankita wondered if she was being criticized because she is considered a television actor. She wrote in her post, “’2 seconds of fame’. This phrase got me thinking today. Coming from a tier 2 city and belonging to a humble background, I had no fancy education to show for myself. I entered the television industry in the year 2004 with a show called Zee Cine Star Ke Khoj. But my real journey began in 2009 with the show “PAVITRA RISHTA” which went on till 2014. I would be doing an injustice if I don’t mention that it was among one of the best shows for 6 consecutive years with the highest GEC TRP on television till date.”

"2 seconds of fame" This phrase got me thinking today. Coming from a tier 2 city and belonging to a humble background, I had no fancy education to show for myself. I entered the television industry in the year 2004 with a show called Zee Cine Star Ke Khoj. But my real journey began in 2009 with the show "PAVITRA RISHTA" which went on till 2014. I would be doing an injustice if I don't mention that it was among one of the best shows for 6 consecutive years with the highest GEC TRP on television till date. Fame is only a byproduct of the love and warmth that an actor receives from the masses. Along with all the viewers, I, too still feel connected to the character of "ARCHANA". Both, my fate and the people have been kind enough to me shower their blessings and love upon me. The aspiration of an actor trying to portray as many different roles and characters as possible, led me to explore. Luckily, I got the opportunity to work in Manikarnika as well as Baghi 3. To conclude, I have been an ACTOR in Television & Bollywood for the past 17 years & now, when I am trying to support justice for my late friend, a view has been expressed that I am seeking JUSTICE because I need 2 seconds of fame and cheap publicity! I cannot fathom as to why any person would take such a stand. Is it because I have worked mostly on television and not in Bollywood? Is that why you would take a stand for the person with whom you have had a relationship for almost a decade? Stop looking down on we television actors, if that was your reason for describing my words as 'GROTESQUE' . It takes an equal amount of hard work and dedication for the actors in the television industry as it would take in Bollywood. I am proud to be a television actor. And if not for anything, I shall always raise my voice for the people I love and care about. #proudtobeatelevisionactor #WarriorsRoar4SSR #justiceforsushant

TV stars including Rashami Desai, Devoleena Bhattarcharjee, Vikas Gupta and Karanvir Bohra nd his wife Teejay Sidhu and many others who have known Ankita Lokhande from the early days of their careers, have also slammed the “2 seconds of fame” comment and shared heartfelt posts in Ankita’s defense.

Bigg Boss fame Vikas Gupta too shared a video on Instagram supporting Ankita and showcasing Ankita’s achievements till date which will take more than two seconds for  Shibani and the haters to know!

He captioned it as “Wrong is Wrong – No matter who says it’s right”. He emphasized that neither Ankita or him have even held Rhea responsible for Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, but they have the right to question her wrongful act of procuring drugs for a person going through mental illness (as claimed by Rhea).

Drugs arnt Kool – Yesterday out of nowhere I was attacked by an actor who I am sure must be close to #rheachakraborty or what was his reason to justify having Coke in a party I dunno on twitter , got some not so nice phone calls and I won’t even mentions the unlimited crass tweets and DMs . The actor attacked me on my personal life and even threatened cause I was standing up for #SushantSinghRajput and when I dint budge and asked him to go ahead he took a YouTurn. I think #Lostsouls and Others took care of him. It was #ankitalokhande who called in the morning to check but by afternoon the same was repeated with her but in a more disturbing way cause This time it was done by someone who we didn’t expect this from. Public shaming, attacks on personal life, threats which are just stupid are not kool. So it was important to let people know it’s not okay to attack any one of us and very politely put our thoughts across. We all have the same Base. We are like cousins who might not meet each other daily but We are standing by each other #ankitalokhande @lokhandeankita #VikasGupta

Well, we can agree that the TV fraternity is much more united as they feel the pain of losing a good actor and even better a good soul like Sushant!! More power to you Anikta!!

We hope Sushant’s family get to know the truth behind his alleged suicide and seek justice!
