Sony TV terminates three shows due to coronavirus lock down
The entire world, including our nation is facing a tough challenge on account of coronavirus break down and lock down situation. Different industry have got majorly impacted due to this pandemic and so has our film and TV industry.
The Hindi GECs and other GECs are unable to telecast fresh episodes of its current shows as shootings have been stalled due to nationwide lockdown. Not only TV shows but shooting of films and web series have been shelved due to the ongoing crisis.
And now, here some bad news for loyal fans of Sony TV shows Beyhadh 2 (featuring Jennifer Winget and Shivin Narang), Patiala Babes (featuring Ashnoor Kaur and Sourabh Raaj Jain) and Isharon Isharon Mein (featuring Mudit Nayar and Simran Pareenja).
As per latest reports, the channel as decided to terminate these three shows and they will not comeback on TV after the lock down situation is over. The channel has confirmed this news to a leading daily and shared that these shows “are finite fiction shows and the nature and the pace of their narrative is time-bound.“
“Given that all shoots have been stalled since March, owing to the unprecedented situation we are in, these shows couldn’t shoot their logical ends. All the three shows have had a good spell and would have paved way to newer narratives eventually, had the shoots been functional. Having said that, keeping the best interests of all in mind and in joint agreement with the producers, it has been decided to terminate these shows, as of now,” added the channel.
All the three shows got rave reviews for their story-lines and performances but were unable fetch expected numbers for the last few months and it looks like that this might also be one of the reasons behind the channel’s decision of cancelling the shows.
