Here are simple tips to nail the No-Makeup Makeup Look
Sometimes you want to go full-glam and break out the brightest lipstick you own. Other days you just want your makeup to help you fake flawless skin and give you a natural look and that when you go for the No-Makeup Makeup Look.
“No makeup” makeup is basically the bare minimum, focusing more on the steps of application than the number of products. You don’t need to be a pro makeup artist to get the no makeup look. It is about looking fresh and flawless without appearing to have made any effort at all.
To help you get the dewy skin and natural looking flush of your dreams, here we share with you helpful tips tricks, and techniques on achieving the perfect no-makeup makeup look (natural look) just like your TV star or a Bollywood celeb!
This look is all about glowing, natural skin. First things first: makes sure the skin is already supple and moisturized. Each morning, top your freshly washed skin with a vitamin C serum.
Perfect with Primer
When you’re going for a minimal look, a primer is the easiest way to get a smooth base. Primers are also great for helping your makeup last longer.
Go Light On Coverage
Steer clear of thick, full coverage foundations for this look. Tinted moisturizers, BB and CC creams give your skin some extra hydration and still allow some of your freckles, redness, and imperfections to shine through. Apply with a buffing foundation brush to cover more, or with a sponge to keep the dewiness.
Just like foundation, concealer isn’t always critical for this look. Use it where and when you need a little extra coverage. Use a lightweight, hydrating concealer. Blend with your fingers as the warmth of your skin makes the product melt right in!
After applying your foundation and concealer, blend a cream bronzer with a damp sponge.
Rather than going for a traditional shimmery highlighter, opt for a cream with a clear base. This basically looks just like sweat or a natural dew to the skin.
Use a a cream blush instead of powder to get a natural glow. There’s something about a natural, blushed look to the skin that is so gorgeous and unpolished. Get that look the easy way by adding a little bit of a cream blush to the apples of the cheeks, up onto the temples, and right on the bridge of the nose.
Natural Eye Makeup
Enhance the beauty of your natural brows by simply using a brow gel with fibers and brushing them up and into place.
For a pretty, natural eye makeup look, choose a cream shadow as they are super easy to use—just swipe and blend. One can (almost) apply them without a mirror.
Choose a shade that both works well with your skin tone and gives you the desired intensity you are looking for colors like “Pink Sparkle” or “Sunlight Gold” for light or fair skin tones, and “Taupe” or “Bark” for medium to deep skin tones.
No mascara is a modern take on the no-makeup look. When you put mascara on it’s really obvious that you’re wearing it. For a natural defined-but-nude look, try a clear mascara. Rock those natural lashes!
Alternatively, tightlining (putting it in the upper waterline) with black eyeliner makes eyelashes look thicker and gives definition to the eyes.
Complete your look with a tinted balm to add a wash of colour to your lips. An alternative to lip tints is applying a regular lipstick with a lighter touch. You may also use a matte lipstick that is a little deeper and richer in tone and just lightly apply it with your ring finger for a pretty stain. This will give you lighter layer but you still get the depth of the colour.
Once you’ve finished applying your makeup, spritz your face with a hydrating mist which leaves your skin looking dewy and fresh, perfect for this natural look.
