The film “Har Har Byomkesh” is based on the fictional detective, Byomkesh Bakshi, created by the Bengali writer Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay.
Tollywood superstar Abir Chatterjee will be essaying the role of Byomkesh Bakshi while Ritwick Chakraborty will enact the role of Byomekesh assistant Ajit Bandopadhyay. Sohini Sarkar will be seen as Satyabati, Byomkesh’s wife.
Nusrat Jahan will be seen as Dipnarayan’s (esaayed by Adil Hussain) wife Shakuntala. Dipnarayan Singh character is the one whose murder is the pivot on which the mystery turns.
In the Picture shared by Nusrat (below), the pretty actress is seen in a graceful saree accompanied with pearl jewelleries, she is looking calm, composed, and elegant.
Speaking about her look Nusrat said, “Initially, I was hesitant about my look as I have never tried such attire before but everybody assured me. And once I begun shooting for the movie, I started receiving appreciation from everyone”.
Talking about Nusrat’s role as Shakuntala, director Arindam said “Shakuntala is a headturner of the then society of Benaras. She is intelligent and beautiful, yet elegant and poised. She is a brilliant painter who also knows horse riding. I needed an actress who could do justice to this effervescent character. I wanted someone who was not Bengali and had the right Hindi accent’.
Apparently, Aditi Rao Haydri was approached for the role of Shakuntala in the movie.
“My first choice was Aditi Rao Hydari and I had even narrated the script to her. She loved the character but her dates were not matching Adil’s,” Arindam said. I had a discussion with Shrikant (Mohta, the pro ducer) and he was very clear that the only other person who could fit the role was Nusrat. The best part is, she is herself a painter and this will help her in playing the character,” Arindam added.
