Robinhood Salman Khan to extend financial help to Indian film industry’s daily wage workers
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has decided to financially support 25,000 daily wage workers from the Indian film industry who are affected by the national lock down on account of coronavirus outbreak.
The country is facing a tough time with 21-day lockdown, as announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to contain the spread of the virus which had badly affected millions of daily wage workers in different industries.
According to FWICE president B N Tiwari, Salman via his Being Human Foundation has reached out to their organization to help the daily workers from the Indian Film Industry. The FWICE has about 5 lakh workers out of which 25,000 are very much in need of financial help.
Being Human Foundation has asked for account details of these 25,000 workers to ensure that money reaches to them directly.
The remaining workers can survive for about a month and will be in need of financial help too. FWICE has reached out to other actors and filmmakers to make a contribution to help these daily wage workers in the film industry.
According to the Health Ministry, the total number of COVID-19 cases rose to 979 on Sunday, with death toll climbing to 25.
