TV actress Surbhi Jyoti has established herself as one of the most popular actors in the industry. The Qubool Hai and Naagin 3 actor has been quite active on social media and giving us updates of her life during lockdown.

1. The Prestige (2006)
The Prestige (2006) is a British-American psychological thriller film directed by Christopher Nolan. The story follows a rivalry waged between one-time partners and stage illusionists Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) and Alfred Borden (Christian Bale). The death of Angier’s wife (Piper Perabo) during an earlier trick drove a wedge between the two men. Since, they have been playing a dangerous game of one-upmanship, and it’s finally leading to their demise.

2. Ford v Ferrari (2019)
Winner of Academy Awards for film editing and sound editing, “Ford v. Ferrari,” which could have been titled “Ford vs. Ford,” tells the story of driver-turned-car builder Carroll Shelby’s effort to put together a race team that could beat Ferrari in the long-distance races of the ’60s. Anchored by great performances by Matt Damon as Shelby, and Christian Bale, who got an Oscar nomination as driver Ken Miles, the film’s fairly accurate to what happened and, as the Oscars indicate, the racing scenes are stunning.

3. 1917 (2019)
1917 is a British war adventure film directed, co-written, and produced by Sam Mendes. The film stars George MacKay and Dean-Charles Chapman, with Mark Strong, Andrew Scott, Richard Madden, Claire Duburcq, Colin Firth and Benedict Cumberbatch in supporting roles.
Two young British soldiers, Schofield (George MacKay) and Blake (Dean-Charles Chapman), are given an impossible task during World War I. The mission is the key focus as the two soldiers make their way through increasingly dangerous situations.
The cinematography by Roger Deakins is mesmerizing, choreographed and executed to perfection around the horrific elements of war.
The film received widespread praise and received numerous accolades, including ten nominations at the 92nd Academy Awards and three wins for Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, and Best Sound Mixing.

4. Pataal Lok (2020)
Paatal lok is gritty crime thriller from Amazon Prime Video. The web series follows story of a washed-out Inspector Hathiram Chaudhary, played by Jaideep Ahlawat, who lands the case of a lifetime when four suspects are nabbed in the assassination attempt of a prime time journalist. he case turns out to be a devious maze where nothing is what it seems on the surface. This, in turn, leads Chaudhary down a treacherous path that leads straight to the dangerous alleys of the netherworld – Paatal Lok.
Written and created by Sudip Sharma, the web series is produced by Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma. It comprises a solid ensemble, with Jaideep Ahlawat dominating the series and each frame that he appears in. He brings forth the frustration and futility of his vardi. He shows you how being a cog in the well-oiled machine that is the ‘System’ is not a price everyone can pay.
The web series also stars popular actors like Ishwak Singh, Neeraj Kabi, Gul Panag and Abhishek Banerjee among others. The series is well-written. The scenes shot in a glitzy newsroom to those in the bylanes of Punjab, all look real. Paatal Lok leaves you asking for more.

5. Never Ever Have I (2020)
The American coming-of-age comedy-drama series Never Have I Ever, created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, streamed on Netflix on April 27 and has boomed with popularity.
This web series is a fresh, fun and poignant addition to television’s repertoire of coming-of-age stories. It is a story of the trials and tribulations of an Indian teen Devi Vishwakumar grappling to find her identity in school in America.
18-year-old Canadian newcomer Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, plays the lead role of Devi Vishwakumar in the series. Sassy, spunky and spirited, she brings to life, the character of Devi, a teen trapped between her desi roots and her quest to find her identity at Sherwood High school in LA.
Created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, it has generated a buzz among the Indian diaspora.
