Lockdown was on humans, not love and humanity, says Rashami Desai as Sania in Tamas
Rashami Desai and Adhvik Mahajan’s short film “Tamas” is now streaming on YouTube. The short film sends out a strong message about love and humanity that many of us seem to forget during this lockdown situation.
“Tamas” is written and directed by Adhvik Mahajan and produced by his wife Neha Mahajan.
The story is about Rishi (Adhvik Mahajan) and Sania (Rashami Desai) during lockdown. No, it not a love story. The short film talks about religion divide, the Hindu-Muslim divide that we usually see around us. From abandoning maids during lockdown, linking poverty to religion, to taking friends for granted, the short film tells us how we are blindfolded in the name of religion.
Towards the end, the film send out a strong message of love and humanity. These ending lines by Rashami Desai aka Sania character, “Saina ho ya Saina, hai toh dono hi desh ki betiyaan. (both are the daughters of the country)” leaves an impact on the audiences.
With a very small screen space (owing to the requirement of the script), Rashami Desai leaves a big impression on us with a powerful message.
