Most watched Indian Web Series: The world of online streaming is vast with international players to contest. Despite that, Indian filmmakers have stood out with some of the best original series on the OTT platform.

Here, we share with you five binge worthy Indian web series on Amazon Prime and Netflix that you can watch while being at home due to Coronavirus lock down.

1. Sacred Games (Season 1 and 2)

Sacred Games, a crime drama, is based on Vikram Chandra’s 2006 novel of the same title. Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan made his digital debut with this web series. Saif plays role of down-on-his-luck cop, Sartaj Singh, who’s racing against time when an elusive Ganesh Gaitonde (brilliantly played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui) cherry picks Sartaj and claims that Singh’s city is under siege by unknown forces.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane, Sacred Games was the first web series produced by Netflix in India. The first season of the show was a massive hit and garnered glorious reviews from the critics for oustanding performances by its star cast.

2. Made In Heaven

Made In Heaven opened the gates into the lives of the few rich Indians, who have the nation obsessed with them. This Indian web series follows the life of two Delhi-based Indian wedding designers Tara Khanna (Shobita Dhulipala) and Karan Mehra (Arjun Mathur). Much like in real life, this web series shows us the deep dark truth behind the seemingly perfect face of the rich Delhi wedding scene.

The binge-worthy series also explores the taboo subject of older women having a desire to remarry, dowry and other interesting socially-charged topics.

3. The Family Man

After delivering quite a few remarkable performances on the big screen, Manoj Bajpayee made his small screen debut with The Family Man. It is an edgy action-drama series, which tells the story of a middle-class man who works for a special cell of the National Investigation Agency.

Manoj Bajpayee is in brilliant form as Srikant Tiwari, the head of an undercover antiterrorism agency, who races against time to save Indian civilians. What makes this Indian web series stand out is the fact that Bajpayee’s family sidetrack that we witness in the show.

4. Inside Edge

Amazon Prime’s first original web series, Inside Edge is a fictional take on India’s T20 cricket scene. It tells the story of a fictional T20 cricket team called Mumbai Mavericks, which is participating in the Power Play League, a nod to the Indian Premier League (IPL). The series delves into the dark web of match-fixing, power-grabbing and betting, and how people regularly play a game involving sex, money, and power to achieve their own means.
Watch this series for a crazy thrilling ride into the world of glamour, politics, and cricket, and witness some great performances in the mix.

5. Mirzapur

After delivering a successful series like Inside Edge, the makers got together to bring a Gangs Of Wasseypur-like bloodbath on the screen with Mirzapur. Set in lawless Uttar Pradesh, here we have morally bankrupt gangsters waging bloody turf wars. The crime drama was a hit and was well received by the critics too.
The story revolves around Akhandanand Tripathi (played by Pankaj Tripathi) who has earned crores by exporting carpets. Tripathi ends up becoming the mafia boss of Mirzapur and his son Munna (Divyendu Sharma), an undeserving, dictatorial successor, follows his father’s footsteps to continue the legacy of chaos, lawlessness, and mafiagiri.
