Aadat Se Majboor actor Manmeet Grewal was suffering from depression during the COVID-19 lockdown
The 32 year old actor lived with his wife in a small rented flat in Navi Mumbai’s Kharghar. Reports suggest that the actor was depressed from the ongoing lockdown as his income came to a standstill due to no work.
Manmeet’s friend and producer Manjit Singh Rajput confirmed the news. Manjit revealed that the actor was going through a financial issue and was also debt-ridden. Due to the ongoing lockdown as all his shoots came to a halt, he faced acute financial crisis. He was unable to pay the rent of the flat and repay the borrowed money as well.
With the ongoing scare around the coronavirus infection, Manmeet’s wife faced difficulty to seek help from the neighbours to cut the dupatta in her husband’s neck and bring down his body as they were afraid of coronavirus infection. After some time, a doctor and a police officer came to the spot; however, they also didn’t help. She as later helped by the security guard of the society.
The police said no suicide note was found and they are investigating the reason. “We will record his wife’s statement to ascertain if he was suffering from depression or had any financial problem. We have registered an accidental death report,” said Pradip Tidar, senior inspector at Kharghar police station.
Manmeet Grewal, who was a faculty member at acting schools, also featured in several ads. He was working on a web series.
